Commemorating the 325th anniversary of the arrival of the first group of German-speaking settlers – thirteen families from Krefeld, Germany – in America.  They arrived in Philadelphia aboard the Concord, considered the “Mayflower of German immigration” on October 6, 1683 and founded Germantown, the first permanent German settlement in America.  Through this first gateway, as well as others, approximately 8,000,000 inhabitants followed.
